The car was purchased in 1974 in Council Bluffs Iowa for $900.00 it was a faded yellow and my dad had it painted red and white and had the interior redone in black and white tuck and rolled black carpeting. Dad and his brother went to Council Bluffs in a 1960 Corvette he had bought previously to look at the 59 and on the way back they were racing and blew the motor in the 59 and replaced it with a 327 we still have have both of the cars the 59 just went through some restoration, refreshed motor, all new brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, frame work and complete new Al Knoch interior during the resto the car revealed that it wasn't a 59 but a 58 Corvette so I am in the process of getting this taken care of
The motor is a 327 bored .030
Replaced the generator with an altenator the radio was gone in the car so I put in a custom design corvette radio with cd changer tucked away in the trunk, added a dual speaker in the dash and two more speakers behind the seats.
Replaced the wiring harness with a painless wiring harness but with a fiberglass body everything had to be grounded (not so painless afterall)
