This '64 Chevy El Camino was my first tow vehicle for my VW's. At the time I had taken my daily driver VW and pretty much made it a pretty high-strung street/strip car, and it was no longer practical to drive around with a high compression, tightly-geared, 12 second VW. So I found a '64 El Camino in need of work.
This picture is pretty much how it looked when I sold the car. I had completely rebuilt the front part of the car and performed lots of repairs and body work. All in all, it was a decent driver.
Early 327 V8 small block, Powerglide automatic transmission. I sold the set of torque thrust wheels (I don't know why - I'd love to have those wheels today!) and picked up a set of SS wheels off a '70 Chevelle.
