Beautiful! I'm looking for one myself at the moment, set up just about the way yours is- a convertible with a 4-speed and preferably a 140, but a 110 will do. trophy image

I joined Motortopia after meeting a man in a gas station and asking about his old car. Turns out it was a '66 Corvair. He recommended this site to learn more about cars in general and meet some great people. Right on all counts. I love those Corvairs, and I realy want a convertible!

1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Convertible (Alvin)

Photo of a 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Convertible (Alvin)

I bought my car in Nov. 2007 as a 50th birthday present to myself. I always wanted to find and restore a 60's era classic. I did not start off wanting a Corvair. I looked into buying a Mustang or a Camaro, but they were very common and more money than I wanted to spend.

I wanted something more unique and fun. In my search of 60's era cars I came across the Corvair. The more I looked into the history of the car the more I liked it. I found one that I liked and bought it. I have been restoring it ever since.

I just completed what was essentially a ground up restoration. I said essentially because with a 43 year old car you are never truly finished restoring the car. I love working on the car and driving it. I just drove it to Jacksonville, FL (650 miles round trip without a problem) for the annual International Corvair Convention. I entered my car in the Concours d'Elegance judged car show, where it won a Senior Gold Award (95.06 points out of 100) its first time out.
