I want it! This car reminds me SO MUCH of my Dad's '67, even though it's a different color.

1966 Chevrolet Corvette (Canary)

Photo of a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette (Canary)

The car is a 1966 Corvette roadster. I purchased this car in the mid 90's from a dealer in Concord Ontario to restore. This was a non numbers car, painted black, small flairs, rear lifted about 5 inches and in really rough overall shape. Incredibly no one wanted the car because of this, I guess there were just too many turnkey people that prefer a finished car. This one was a challenge because it was more than just cosmetic its problems went through to frame, suspension and mechanicals. In spite of the starting point the car ended up being one of the most striking Corvettes I had seen.
I upgraded the car with a leather interior, sidepipes, hardtop, Torqu Thrust rims and finished with a soft yellow paint job. It was a driver with a 350 HP 327 non matching engine and a 4 speed. I am a firm believer in using my cars which was the original intention of them. I don't over restore or try to make a non numbers car a numbers car nor have I ever understood the importance of it to begin with.
This car is truly the proof you can make a silk purse from a sows ear transformation. In spite of all the work it never tracked or rode properly so it was traded off a year later for my second Aurora Cobra to a dealer in Hamilton.

This car was sold almost immediately by the dealer to a customer of theirs in the USA.
