I was with my dad the night we purchased this truck and drove it home to my mother who was expecting a new stationwagon to replace her '63 Buick special wagon that we had been having problems with. Let's just say she wasn't as happy as me and dad. But she grew to love ole Mertlye as we spent many summer vacations in colorado, New Mexico and points north. Dad had a 2x4 framed camper topper, "weighed a ton" on her back then. We had a lot of fun and went many miles, no air conditioner, power steering or any of the things we can't live without today. I bought her from dad years ago and promised not to sell her, and during a divorce I got weak and sold her, 15 years ago. Great news I found her 2 years ago and the new owner knew about my promise to my dad and let me purchase her back she's back home to stay...
