1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 clone (68bird)

Photo of a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 clone (68bird)

Picked up this 68 Firebird from a guy's backyard that had been sitting for the last 19-years. Quite an undertaking, not for the faint of heart.

Car was a 350 4-speed car that was missing the motor and tranny.

You can visit to watch the process.

So Far...
I've replaced the rear outer wheel housings,
quater skins, floor pans toe to rear seat, seat frames, braces etc. Just finished the door skins. At present, I'm patching the lower front fenders.
I have the subframe all cleaned and coated with POR15. I used POR15 throughout the entire body process when anything got replaced. The body was dry stripped by professional service.
Putting on the 4-wheel disc conversion with power.
I have about 85% of all the new parts bought to include:
1971 GTO 400 motor
Richmond 6-speed trans
Complete new 12-bolt with Richmond 3.08's
New Barry Grant Demon SixShooter set up
Ram Air 4 cam (GM #9794041)
Eagle rotating assembly
MSD with 6A box
Classic Air system
Every nut and bolt will be new.
Still need to order the 400 hood.
