One of a kind street legal 1970 Chevelle. This was a frame off restoration with every detail on the vehicle addressed. This muscle car was in the may issue of hot rod magazine and a 2005 SEMA show car. When it comes to muscle cars this is one of a kind Chevelle that was built to exceed 160 mph and do over a lateral-G on the 200' skid pad, while running sub 12 second quarter mile times.
The motor is a full roller 454 with complete cams valve train minus the rockers, which are crane cam pieces. It has a Milodon 7qt oil pan. The block is a 1971 date 454 4- bolt main block with a stock oval port heads that have been polished and ported with all new competition custom grind roller cams installed. The rods and crank are forged steel. The pistons are from JE hypereuntetic with a10.5:1 compression. Giving this massive engine its spark is a MSD ready to run pro billet distributor. The eldlebrock dual-quad intake manifold with two Edelbrock 4bbl 500CFM carburetors with electric shock and tandem linkage.This beast gets all the oxygen it needs to breath from the an air cleaner that was custom designed and fabricated specifically for the car. The engine runs a march serpentine set up.
The transmission is a custom built 4l80e designed for this car by TCI. It also uses the TCI TCOM computer system to tie in the paddle shifters, which allow you to manually shift using the billet specialties steering wheel. Accompanying the transmission form. TCI is the street fighter lockup torque converter, trans oil cooler and flywheel. The rear end is a stock 12 bolt utilizing 3.55 gears
The suspension is a state of the art design by nationally known mechanical engineer Marcus Savitske of SC&C. the rear suspension uses tubular adjustable spherical-ended uppers from Edlebrock and tubular lowers from BMR fabrications. The springs 1" Drop pieces from hotchkis and the rear has an adjustable rate splined 1" sway bar from SC&C. the front suspension was custom fabricated by SC&C. the goal was to produce a suspension made to pull of a lateral-G. Understanding the importance of the handling of the car, the system was developed using modified Corvette suspension parts.
The corvette disc brakes in the front and camaro disc's in the rear take the car down from breaking neck speeds in close to 120'. The break system is plumed using classic tube's stainless steel lines. The Coys C-5 18x9.5" & 17x8.5" wheels only seem the right stance, giving this cars amazing transformation into a one of a kind Chevelle.
The car is not only loaded with power under the hood it comes equipped with power everything, power windows, power/heated mirrors, 6 way power front drives seat. Spal USA supplied the electric fans, fan controller along with the alarm. The A/C system is from Classic Auto Air and blows ice cold. The leather seats with burgundy suede inserts give the feeling of luxury and sophistication in a true American muscle car.Other leather goodies are, door panels, kick panels, complete dash, headliner, trunk and yes, even the floor is laided out in leather!. The dash uses classic instrument gauges, a push button start & Keyless entry.
The lower color is a dark PPG shadow gray metallic ford paint code CX, Upper is custom PPG Burgundy. Spal USA supplied the shaved door handle kit along with a full power trunk kit. The sound system was custom built for the car by RE Audio for SEMA as a true audiophile system; this is not your high school boom box. The system was designed to get load and be distortion free from the entire db range. Careful attention was paid to the acoustic properties in the cab of the vehicle using extensive sound treatments from the Second Skin Audio that help control and dampen the sound.
The 2.5" exhaust uses Siamese x-pipe and is ceramic coated all the way up to the shorty headers that also have a ceramic finish, with the intire system exiting over the rear axle,or the option of removing the covers from side collectors and by passing mufflers for full out exhaust sound!.
