I got lucky when I stumbled on to my 1972 chevelle. I was out wondering around one day and seen the car setting under a carport. It was very dusty and hard to recognize.
This chevelle was neglected for 6 or more years. I knocked on the door and a little sweet old lady answered the door. I asked if she wanted to sell the chevelle. She thought about it for a few minutes and she told me what I wanted to hear. From what she told me the car was all stock. It had three flat tires and dirt daubers nests in the breather. She told me that it was her son's car and he bought it new when he was in the army. I got a truck and trailer and loaded it up. I took it to my Brothers(Big Micks)Detail Shop and put in a battery and primed the carb and she fired right up. I was excited!!! My wife was looking at me like I was a fool. My brother and I colored sanded on the old faded paint for an hour or two. Then we compounded and put a good coat of wax on it.
Then after that, guess who wanted to drive it. Yeah, that's write, my wife. I told her no. LOL
