Bought the 1973 rust free Nova shell from a buddy who bought it in 1982. He then gutted and tore the car apart. He threw things away like, seats, seat belts, motor, trans. AC. You get the idea. It was going to be a race car. This process took him about a year or so. That's as far as he got. The car then sat all torn apart in his garage till I bought it in Sept. of 2004. Took me 4 years to get it this far.
Put together a nice street savy 355. Flat top pistons, high flow GM cast heads. HYD comp cam and lifters, double roller timing chain, Edelbrock performer rpm intake, 650 edlebrock carb. with manual seconderies (350-400hp), with a built 700R4 and 2000 RPM stall behind it. 12 bolt Posi with 373's out of a 72 Nova. 2 1/2" dual exhaust. Cruises at 70 MPH at around 21-2200 PRM.
Started out as a Nova Custom. Power steering, tinted windshield. AM-FM radio, AC, manual drum brakes all around. Car stops just fine. Only problem is, can't power brake very well. Can't hold the car, it wants to GO. Will put After market AC in later.
Two tone Jet black and silver metalic paint with 1/8" red pinstripe between colors. Jester sub-frame connectors, lakewood traction bars. B&M Shifter, Nova rears spoiler molded into origonal deck lid. (can't get a nova spoiler anymore) buddy put it on when he bought the car in 82. I Put in a 68 nova grill, 72 front bumper and front trim. Then a 2" steel cowl hood. Seat belts out of a 68 Chevelle, bucket seats and back seat out of a cutlass, counsel out of a explorer.
