Back in '73 I was out shopping for a new ride after my '70 Cutlass S w/ram air was rear ended, pushing my rear bumper all the way up to the rear seat. It never drove the same afterwards.
I went into Action Oldsmobile on Plymouth road to see what was new. There she was on the showroom floor just waiting to go for a test drive. I gave the salesman $100 to hold her. After a little negotiation on the trade in value of my '70 Cutlass S, and financing my first car without a cosigner, she was mine . There was no haggling over the sticker price of $5500. I knew there were only 2000 of these cars made, so I was happy with the arrangement the salesman and I came to. If I would not have put down the money to hold her that first visit I would have lost her. Back then each dealership was only allowed to be shipped 2 of these Hurst Olds.
