I actually like the Coupe better than the fastbacks. The just seem to have cleaner lines that I prefer. I didn't think I would ever want a yellow vehicle, now I have two of them. In the near future I will post my 73 Jeep Wagoneer, it a pale yellow. Thinking about adding my two dump trucks also. The 70 Chevy is in the background of the Monza. The other is a 97 GMC with a snow plow.

That car is HOT! I like the Town Coupe body style, with it's unique front and rear ends. trophy image

1975 Chevrolet Monza (jw's Yellow Rez Rod)

Photo of a 1975 Chevrolet Monza (jw's Yellow Rez Rod)

I always wanted a fast car, definitely GM, Small Block, Auto Transmission, unique to my personality, I take pride in not being common and having things not everyone can have. I found a Monza in rural Todd County, South Dakota. I tried to purchase it but the owner would not sell, it just sits there wasting away. I finally gave up on it as my dream project car. One day I was browsing Ebay and run across a Monza like the one I had planned if I could have purchased the original Monza. I ended up buying it already fixed up pretty much like I planned for my dream car. Actually I spent considerable less than I had estimated I would have spent fixing one up and didn't have to do any of the work. Instant dream car!

The car was located in Martinsburg, WV. When it was delivered to Mission, the transport driver made an interesting comment. He looked me right in the eye and said, "Your car is a monster, it growls at you!" He was right, when you stand on the gas it does growl and immediately get to covering some serious pavement! I can hardly wait to get it to a strip to see what it will do. I will take it to Sturgis, SD and see what it can do on an eighth mile strip, and to Pierre, SD to see what it will do on a quarter mile strip. Then I will retire it to the Rosebud Sioux Reservation for occasional rumbles around Rez.

413 cu in small block (400 bored .060), 6" rods, steel crank, 13.6 to 1 pistons, wild rough idling Chet Herbert high lift cam, 750 CFM Holley on an aluminum high rise manifold, Trunk mounted fuel cell, battery and high pressure fuel pump, headers, 3 inch exhaust, 3800 RPM stall torque converter, 350 turbo transmission, ratchet shifter, traction bars, 373 Posi rear gears, JAZ bucket seats with lap and shoulder safety harness.

Car needs a little work to make it totally what I wanted. Will update as changes are made.
