I recently bought two 1977 Chevy Monza's. Thing 1 is a 1977 4spd 4cyl car. Thing 2 is a305ci V8 Automatic Spyder.
The Idea is to build an LS1 6spd car. I'm going to cage it and see what I can do about beefing up the front end to handle road coarses? The rearends wern't so bad. coil springs, trailing arms, panhard bar and a torque arm. Even thought the car is SMALL! with the seat all the way back I can't reach the pedals, shifter or steering wheel easily. SO, like the Dekon IMSA cars, I'm going to see if I can cut the firewall and move the engine and trans back 2-6 inches? Dekon moved there Iron block 350 back 6 inches and the car then had 50/50 perfect weight balance! The aluminum LS motor will help with weight and balance also.
one of the cars is a Spyder. They had some neat spoilers that will go on Thing 3. What is cool is both these cars were black!!! so all the plastic bits match! So cool. Oh, and the 4spd car has the clutch pedals which will facilitate the 6spd conversion much easier!
