1979 Pontiac Trans Am SE (Frog)

No longer owned

I found this 1979 S/E Pontiac Trans Am on It was on a Pontiac dealers showroom floor in Noxboro, N.C. They took the car in on trade in 2002 and the dealership owner kept it as his personal toy, though the title was never registered in his name, it remained in inventory for 6 years. I am comfortable buying on the internet and ebay for small items but never a car sight unseen. Because this was at a legitimate dealership I made the decision to purchase and have shipped. The excitement was overwhelming. The car was not perfect but better than average, 84,000 orginal miles, original window sticker (yes it was a Special Edition). I put it in the city Christmas parade, wore a red shirt, Stetson hat, fake mustache, played Eastbound and Down, and my daughter wore my wife's (her mother's) wedding gown and veil from 1988. My daughter is 16 and did not quiet get it until the parade started. When everyone began calling for the Bandit, she understood something was special about the black and gold Trans Am. Someone called me after the parade and offerred to buy the car. I priced it a little high to discourage them, but they wrote a check and I had to let it go.
