Bought my first 928, an 86.5 S.
Had it for 48 hours and was rear ended, totaling it.
Bought the 1988 S4 one soon after. Its great. Rare Rock Green Metallic exterior with Olive leather interior.
This 928 runs with a 5 liter 32V DOHC aluminum block motor, 4 speed auto, with the transmission mounted in the rear.
Just over 60K miles, not bad for a 20 year old car. Since getting her, I've upgraded the audio system to a new Blaupunkt, reset the valve timing ( the previous owner ruined the timing by doing a bad timing belt change), replaced the motor mounts, oil pan, steering rack and AC compressor.
From the factory, shes rated for 162 mph ( auto ). I've only seen about 150, mainly due to lack of areas to do more and the fact that the rubber is kind of old and I don't trust it.
Future projects include new rubber, an X-Pipe, a rear muffler bypass and possible new rims ( although the stock rims are classics)
Power: 316 HP
Torque: 317 lt/lb
Max Speed: 162 mph
Accel ( 0-100 km/hr or 0-62 mph ): 6.6 sec
1/4 mile: 14.5 sec
The 1987 version of the 928 S4 was the fastest production road-car in the world in 1986, having been recorded at 172 mph (277 km/h) on the salt flats in Utah using an early 928 S4. ( http://en.wik.../Porsche_928)
Auto, rare Rock Green metallic exterior with Olive leather interior.
Very Stock, so far.
Planned upgrades include an X-Pipe and a rear muffler bypass.
