I have always loved the Porsche 928 series ever since seeing my first one in 1980 or so. Back then they looked like something from space since every other car seemed to be so square! This is one of 3,663 Porsche 928 S4's produced in 1988.
As testament to the S4's supercar status, Al Holbert set two FIA world land speed records of 171+mph in a stock, catalytic converter equipped 928 S4 at Bonneville - the same car which could be bought at any Porsche authorized dealer.
Porsche's marketing slogan "It's about as fast as you can go without having to eat airline food" or "It is as fast as you can go without hiring a flight attendant" from the late 1980s where at one point it was the fastest production road-car in the world, having been recorded at 172mph on the salt flats in Utah in 1986 using an early 928 S4.
From 1987 through 1991 there were only 16213 Porsche 928's produced making them somewhat rare.
5.0 liter 32 valve V8 with 316 HP and 316.9 ft lb of torque. 100% stock original. The sport Momo wheel seen the in pictures has been removed and the correct original wheel was reinstalled.
This one is still stock original thank you very much! ;-)
