1994 Chevrolet Beretta Z26 (The Z)

Photo of a 1994 Chevrolet Beretta Z26 (The Z)

This car is my daily driver. My only intent with the car is to keep it as close to mint as possible. I took it to the dragway a few times last year for the first time ever. It ran a 16.4, which isn't too bad for what it is.

The main reason I bought the car was because not only was it the right price, but I loved the look, it was clean inside and out, and it had the rare blue interior I loved so much.

Trim: Z26
Engine: 3100 V6 160hp
Trans: 4 Speed Auto
Drag: 16.460 @ 84mph (1/2 tank gas, minus spare tire)
Suspension: Stock w/strut brace

Factory Options

Lets see if I can get them all...I'll have to check my trusty dealer sticker & see what it says under the "added options" portion. :)

- 4 speed auto trans
- V6 3100 engine
- 16" aluminum wheels (incl performance handling suspension)
- rear window defroster
- power windows
- power locks (w/auto locking)
- tilt wheel
- power trunk opener
- cruise control
- color keyed floormats
- cluster w/tach
- intermittant wipers
- adjustable lumbar support

I haven't really changed the appearance too much. I'm more about keeping it in nice condition than modifying the look. That said, I did do a few things to make it fit my style a bit more.

The first thing I added was an HVAC overlay from speedhut. However, I've had it for 2yrs and still haven't gotten around to hooking it up so I can see the settings at night.

The second thing I added were strut mount covers from MRZ Performance. They're polished with "Z26" on them.

The third thing I added was a flush mount plate for the headunit from MRZ Performance. It's gloss black with engraved Z26 in silver. To match the silver theme, I also painted the fins inside the vents silver.

The last thing I did was change the reflectors on the rear of the car. I was bored with the red, so I put blue reflective tape over the taillight reflectors, and black (reflects white) over the filler panel.

The only mod is a Y-pipe after the rear axle to dual dynomax mufflers; there's also a high flow cat on it. I'm more into keeping it running well, than I am with modifying it. Though I do plan to add a Tranzgenic CAI and a FFP underdrive pulley at some point. The pulley will probably happen when I get around to replacing the alternator.

Future Mods
FFP Underdrive Pulley
Tranzgenic CAI
Not really a mod, but new speakers all around
