When I saw the Mustang Bullitt at the 2008 Auto Show in NYC, it was too late in the model year to get it the way I wanted it locally. But with the support of IMBOC (International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club) - especially Terry Honaker - I flew to Lexington, KY to buy my Mustang from Dutch's Ford in Mt. Sterling, KY. On May 10, 2008. I picked up my Bulliitt with Terry and his friend Mark's help and then drove 720 miles home to NYC. I recently moved from NYC to Los Angeles and drove my Bullitt x-country as part of the move, visiting both Dutch's Ford and Terry Honaker along the way and then driving Route 66 from Stroud, Oklahoma to L.A. As an L.A.-based "Bullitthead", I have already participated in the Friends of Steve McQueen annual benefit car show for the Boys Republic School in Chino Hills, CA, where I got Chad McQueen to sign my dash (in exchange for a donation to Boys Republic). Next year - to support Boys Republic - I will be driving my Bullitt back East to help round up East coast Bullittheads for a x-country fundraising drive that will end at the 2012 Friends of Steve McQueen car show.
