During my junior year in high school, my mom bought me an issue of Motor Trend that featured a no holds barred competition between an L88 powered '67 Corvette roadster and the new LS1 powered '98 Corvette C5. The C5 won every event with the exception of top speed through the quarter mile and at that point became my dream car. Eight years later, I saved every nickel from my first "real" job at Freightliner to buy a Corvette C5. It took 20 months and in December 2006, I finally had enough $$ to take home the stunning Magnetic Red C5.
