Every January, Florida’s east coast kicks off the show season with one of the most diverse gatherings in the Southeast: Eastbound Getdown, presented by Down 4 Sound. Now in its fifth year, the event returned January 16–18 to Destination Daytona, transforming the venue into a sea of polished paint, bass demos, and custom rides spanning multiple corners of the hobby.
Eastbound Getdown has built a reputation for merging scenes that don’t always share the same parking lot. The show field featured everything from imports, C10s, OBS trucks, and bagged full-size builds to a healthy turnout of mini-trucks that continue to hold down the core of the event. On the opposite end of the venue, the dedicated sound side rattled with demo vehicles and competition builds showcasing serious audio hardware and horsepower measured in decibels rather than dyno numbers.
Destination Daytona proved once again why it’s the ideal host by providing hotels, restaurants, nightlife, and vendors within walking distance. Many attendees turned the weekend into a mini-vacation, filling local beaches, cruising the A1A coastal highway, and enjoying nighttime parking lot hangs long after the show field closed.
While the displays and judging drew eyes during the day, the culture and community are what keep people returning. Five years in, and Eastbound Getdown has evolved from a regional meet into a travel-worthy destination show with national draw. It has become the unofficial kickoff to the season—a place to debut winter builds, reconnect with friends, and set the tone for the year ahead.
If 2026 is any indication, the Getdown isn’t slowing down. In fact, year five may have been the biggest one yet.
