IF YOU’RE SOMEONE WHO BELIEVES THAT EVERY TRUCK BUILDER’S FIRST PROJECT IS DOOMED TO BE RUSHED OR SLOPPY, JOSE JUAREZ OF HOUSTON IS HERE TO PROVE YOU WRONG. It’s easy to see that Jose set out to do things right. Starting with a long list of detailed mods and custom parts, he took more than nine years to complete his Ford masterpiece.
Growing up, Jose attended car and truck shows with his older brother, Armando. He always wanted to own a high-quality show truck, and in 2006, he seized the opportunity to purchase an ’03 Ford F-150. He’s been taking pride in his truck and its transformation ever since.

Jose didn’t get to work immediately after he bought his truck. The first major changes occurred in 2011, after five years of meticulous planning and building a savings. It all started with a front-end conversion and a new paint job. This consisted of taking the fenders, hood, grille and headlights from a 2007 King Ranch F-150 and converting them to fit his 2003-body pickup. This might sound simple, but trust us when we say that it took a lot of work.
Once the swap was complete, the truck went in for paint. The House of Kolor Cinnamon Pearl and White two- tone looked better than Jose ever imagined, thanks to his friends at All Star Customs. The graphics that Patrick Reid laid down on the bedsides were the icing on the cake for the paint, and Jose really started to believe that his custom dreams would come true.
THE TRUCK FINALLY FELT COMPLETE, AND AS WE ALL CAN SEE, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.”

After more planning and a bit more saving, Jose was ready to take the next step in 2013. He narrowed the bed and began doing the math to tuck the massive 26×10-inch rear wheels he envisioned. Having put in the work to make them fit, he decided on 24×9- inch wheels for the front. The Bonspeed Sweeps were a match made in heaven for this two-tone beauty; the subtle, fully polished finish accents the truck perfectly.
A short time later, in 2014, work began on the custom interior. To switch it up and keep show-goers and builders guessing, he chose 2003 Ford Lariat seats for the front and Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson seats for the rear; wrapping them both in matching brown Reno vinyl. He accented the seating arrangements with a tan custom center console containing a JL 12- inch W7, followed by a smoothed and painted dashboard and door panels by Jose Chapa. Covered in a smooth silver tone, they set off the silver carpet and pillars in the cab. Add in the Billet Specialties steering wheel wrapped to match the seats, and there was only one more thing this truck could possibly need: to finally lay frame.

The following year, Jose made it happen. His patience finally paid off as he watched his transformed, one-of-a-kind ’03 F-150 lay flat out on a custom Chassis Fab setup mixed with AccuAir e-Level. The truck finally felt complete, and as we all can see, it was worth the wait.
