Innovative Solution Transforms Off-Road Capabilities from 1988 to 2019 Models

Rugged Rocks, a pioneer in the Nissan 4×4 market, in collaboration with Advance Adapters, is excited to announce the release of Atlas Transfercase Adapters, a product that revolutionizes the off-road potential for Nissan 4×4 vehicles from 1988 through 2019.
This new product allows Nissan 4×4 owners to replace their stock transfercase with an Atlas Transfercase, offering superior strength and much deeper gearing. The introduction of the Atlas Transfercase Adapters provides a giant leap forward for Nissan 4×4 owners looking to transform their vehicles into extremely capable trail rigs or rock crawlers. The relationship between Rugged Rocks and Advance Adapters began in 2008 when Rugged Rocks founder, Steven Lutz,  met Mike, a member of the family who started Advance Adapters. Their shared vision for enhancing off-road capabilities in Nissan trucks laid the groundwork for a series of successful collaborations, leading to this latest development.

Notably, the Rugged Rocks founder had been instrumental in advocating for deeper gearing in Nissan trucks, working hand-in-hand with Advance Adapters to make it a reality. Despite the industry’s ongoing recovery from the COVID pandemic, their patience and dedication have resulted in the successful reintroduction of this valuable product to the Nissan 4×4 market.

Building upon their past successes, the partners adapted the original Nissan adapter to create a solution compatible with the 1988 – 2004 Nissan 4×4’s, facilitating the attachment of a 31-spline input Atlas Transfercase to the transmission. Now, the same approach has been applied to the 2nd generation (2005 – 2019) Xterras and Frontiers (and more), offering the option for a 2-speed or 4-speed Atlas without a custom input shaft.
