F Series Builders Guide
Chris Pingree, owner of IronHide Hauling, met with us at Music City Showdown to get a quick photo set in. The day started out great, with Chris bringing us some Chick-fil-A breakfast, which basically guaranteed a happy Mach1Media. We caught up and ripped some pics before the weather turned for the worse, as it always manages to do in Nashville. The shoot ended with some rollers, so all in all, it was not a bad way to start the day.

This truck actually wasn’t even the one originally planned for us to shoot. Having just snagged a 2022 Ram and throwing a downpipe on it, the truck started giving Chris major motor issues after only six months of ownership. That led him to a fork in the road: wait and see if the dealer will make it right (spoiler: they refused to help), or jump ship and find something that better fits the always-on-the-road lifestyle Chris lives. As luck would have it, this 2018 Ford F-250 Platinum popped up, and Chris bought it with only two months to have something he felt was worthy of parking at Music City Showdown. Mike Lang of High Altitude Trucks pieced everything together, including the perfectly paint-matched exterior pieces done by Carstar Autobody and Paint. Some might call building a show-ready truck in two months a scramble, but Chris and Mike love a good challenge.

The goal was to build a daily driver that looked amazing and drove like a stock truck with some oomph behind it. Naturally, the motor was given a Stage 1 NoLimit Turbo and downpipe, an MPP piping kit, and a NoLimit intercooler to wake it up. Chris mentioned the only real “problem” they ran into during the process was that the downpipe needed a little aggressive persuasion to fit perfectly, as without any modifications it would rattle and vibrate against the firewall, making for quite the racket inside the cabin. They simply massaged the firewall with a mallet until the downpipe cleared and made no more rattling noises! The suspension is a super clean BDS six-inch lift kit that’s been powdercoated Prismatic Colors Fairy Dust Teal, coupled with Fox shocks front and rear. The 24×14 JTX Forged Paradigm wheels in the two-tone brushed and Fairy Dust Teal look awesome and match the suspension perfectly. Chris told us that it was one of the best daily driving trucks he has owned and absolutely loves how it turned out.

Chris is already onto another build as well, and he also just got himself quite the heavy-hauling big rig for work, so rest assured that the party will continue with more photo sets, more shows, and hopefully, more Chick-fil-A brekkie.
