The time has come again for another epic Terra Crew Speed Metal Festival! This year will mark year 4 of the event that took place in Adelanto, California, featuring off-road racing and drift exhibitions, Mini Moto Mayhem, vendors, food, and much more. For the last couple of years, we have been following this event, and this year was one for the books.

To kick off the weekend’s festivities, Terra hosted a 1450 race that consisted of two heats and a main. If you ever come to Speed Metal, make sure to take that Friday off to come and watch the mayhem of 15-20 trucks on the course at once fighting for the trophy and other prizes. This year, the competition was fierce, and the drivers were laying it down on the course. In the end, the Deaknbuilt Racing family took the top spot, earning another trophy after their long 1450 career as a racing family.

After the 1450 race, the crowd headed over to the drift area for the real kickoff party we like to call the “drift rave.” Drift drivers took to the newly configured drift course and gave the crowd a show until the late-night hours.

Saturday started late this year with the gates opening at noon, allowing last-minute vendors and drivers plenty of time to arrive before they hit the track. A mandatory driver and media safety meeting took place, and after that, everyone went to their prospective stations. The off-road course was bombarded all day long with different classes of vehicles ranging from the no-cage sketchy dude class, buggy dorks class, brorunner class, and the wannabe trophy truck class. It’s always a good time watching your friend or family member turn laps in a vehicle they have proudly built themselves or have been working on for years. Each driver had multiple times throughout the day to tackle the course and get lots of seat time in their truck.

The vibe was no different over in the drift area. All day long, drifters were tearing up tires, giving people rides, and enjoying their labors of building their cars. Being able to show off their skills for the crowd is a gift that keeps on giving, and if you’re lucky enough, one of them will invite you to go for a ride to get the full experience of the event.

In between all of the action lies vendor row, where some of our favorite off-road and automotive brands had booths to showcase their awesome products or services. And of course, no event is complete without great food. Speed Metal always tries its best to give the spectators a good variety of choices. This year was no compromise, as you were sure to leave full and satisfied.

Speed Metal 4 was another great event put on by Terra Crew. It has such a grassroots and chill vibe, and everyone there was happy to be experiencing this one-of-a-kind event firsthand. There are big plans and some major changes coming for the 5th anniversary, and we hope you don’t miss it. If you haven’t been to a Speed Metal event yet, it’s highly recommended, as it’s one of the coolest and most unique grassroots events to hit Southern California—even the entire U.S. for that matter.

Speed Metal 2027 is already booked and will take place April 30th through May 1st, 2027. Don’t miss out on this awesome event that will live rent-free in your head for years to come.
