Some trucks and SUVs have computers that don’t recalibrate the speedometer and odometer if you add larger (or smaller) tires or change axle gear ratios. The computer calculates vehicle speed based on the diameter of the stock tires. If you’ve changed tire size or the rear gear ratio, the vehicle’s computer doesn’t know how fast your vehicle is going. That means the speedometer readings will not be accurate.

A Hypertech Inline Speedometer Calibrator Module will take care of that problem. Using it is a snap:

• Connect the Inline Speedometer Calibrator Module to your PC with the included USB cable

• Plug in the new tire height and/or rear gear ratio into the module software

• Disconnect the plug from the vehicle’s Body Control Module to the factory instrument cluster

• Plug the module into the cluster connector and the Body Control Module, reconnect the instrument cluster connector, and you’re done

Hypertech Inline Speedometer Calibrator Modules have no limitations on tire size or gear ratios. That makes them ideal for use with tuners and programmers that often have a specified tire size or gear ratio range. The modules are available for many popular trucks and SUVs including these:

• 2019-23 Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon

• 2002-25 Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500
