Diesel World
When Brendan Schaub isn’t breaking down fights or cracking jokes behind a podcast mic, he’s wrenching on something serious or promoting his newest brand, Drive Fast, All Gas. Known for his time in the UFC and now as a podcaster and hardcore truck enthusiast, Brendan’s a true gearhead at heart, and he’s just unveiled a rig that’s raising eyebrows across the diesel scene-this fully built 2005 AM General H1 Humvee powered by a 6.0L Power Stroke. Yeah, you read that right.

This beast isn’t just some cosmetic resto, it’s a ground-up custom project pieced together by Brendan and the crew at SIG Motorsports in Downey, California. The goal? Build something no one else has. Mission accomplished.

Starting with a genuine U.S. Army-issued Desert Tan H1, the team ditched the factory power plant and dropped in a fully built 6.0L V-8 diesel out of a 2005 Ford. This isn’t your average swap, it took custom mounts, reworked plumbing, a whole new wiring layout, and some serious patience. Under the hood, it’s loaded with Power Stroke Products O-ringed heads, ceramic-coated Mahle pistons, lifters, 175cc/30% injectors, and a cam that rumbles low and hits hard. Boost comes from a modified 9-blade turbo, which feeds a custom intercooler setup.

Backing it is a beefed-up Blue Oval Solutions 5R110 trans with a Recon triple-disc converter and all the fixings including: Transgo valves, welded drums, upgraded clutch packs-you name it. Power runs through custom driveshafts to factory axles with 2.73 gears and lockers front and rear.

The chassis isn’t just cleaned up either, it has been fully redesigned. A fresh 5.5-inch lift, King shocks, and heavy-duty brackets let the Humvee run 40×15.5R20 Toyo Open Country M/Ts on custom Predator 20x10s. The whole frame has been stripped, blasted, and repainted. Even the interior received some love by adding PRP racing buckets wrapped in green vinyl and black camo cloth, plus a custom-built Plan B Trucks dash and Speedhut gauges.

What’s the best part? Brendan and his team did it all without a guidebook. This build was trial and error, cut, weld, test, repeat. It’s a straight-up one-of-a-kind diesel brawler that shows just how far passion and persistence can take you.

“Take your time, be patient, do it once, do it right,” Brendan says. Solid advice from a guy who knows how to take hits, and build trucks that hit even harder.
