Sun, heat and classics  

I grew up in Ojai, California. At least from the age of 10-19. But back in those days, many of these “classics” were just regular cars perusing the 117 degree streets of Ojai. But now, and here in 2022, The Official OJAI CARS & COFFEE goes off on Sundays to celebrate some stunning Classic, Vintage, Muscle, Trucks and Beaters that get together for serious automotive chit-chat.

Many of the people who attend are Ojai-lifers like Dwayne Bower and his 1950 Pontiac Silver Streak. His Gramps gave this car to him 50 years ago… and Gramps bought it new 20 years before that! Check out my Youtube Channel for more of Dwayne’s story, but he’s got an amazing Private Collection also. (I’m best to behave as his wife Marilyn was my teacher at school. Although I probably spent more time in detention than in class!)

The show is really fun and Ojai is an amazing town to have it in. The drive up there being one of the best parts of the experience. Be sure to be on the lookout for a Red Curtis, Marina Blue Vette and some other stunners. Then have lunch at the corner Market behind Rains Dept Store. Yes, they still call it a Dept Store. Small Towns are still cool…
