Lone Star Throwdown
Lone Star Throwdown was the first large custom car and truck show scheduled for the 2021 season. This show, hands down, is a must as an avid car and truck enthusiast. The 2021 event was the shows’ 10th year running and they have no intentions of stopping!
With people starting to get “cabin-fever” due to the Coronavirus pandemic, car and truck enthusiasts were ready to get back out and enjoy some events. Although Texas had just suffered a terrible snow and ice storm, that did not put a halt to the car show. Lone Star Throwdown was held February 26-28, 2021 at the Lone Star Expo Center and Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Conroe, Texas.
As the saying goes “everything is bigger in Texas” this custom car and truck show is no exception! Chris Hamilton and Jason Ballard talk about wheels and that’s another thing that is bigger in Texas. Big wheels, big trucks and big builds! The Street Trucks Magazine crew were all hands on deck bringing the show to you by live streaming the entire event.
There were all makes and models of vehicles in attendance at Lone Star Showdown 2021. Mini trucks have made a huge comeback in the last few years and it definitely showed at this custom car event. It has taken years and years of fabricating and perfecting the craftwork of building custom mini trucks. This doesn’t just apply to mini trucks, it applies to all custom car and truck builds. The frame work that has to be completed in order to even begin building a custom car or truck is a work of art in itself. Lone Star Showdown also brings out some of the most amazing SEMA trucks in the scene.
David Shulman was one of the many in attendance at the event. He brought his Krew Kut dually that was redesigned and built on the TV show Fast N’ Loud. Be sure to watch the live stream of the event to catch a full walkaround of Krew Kut and of the entire car show!
