When you think of a Hummer H2, a bulky SUV towering over traffic probably comes to mind. But Jim Ellingham from Flowery Branch, Georgia, flipped the script with his 2006 H2 nicknamed “Humvee.” As a member of Acrophobia and the owner of Supreme Sign Services, Jim has turned this rig into a road-hugging beast that breaks necks and the common rules of the road.
The journey started with Andrew Schoen and Jimmy Broyles laying the foundation, but Jim wasn’t about to stop there. After five years and $150,000, Humvee is more than just a showstopper. It’s a one-of-a-kind, drivable, body-dropped Hummer.
Humvee’s exterior is pure artistry. Every distraction—including door handles, gas door, hood latches, mirrors, side markers, and emblems—was shaved clean. Resprayed in Kia Santorini Blue by CD Designs, this Hummer’s smooth curves pop with custom vinyl graphics courtesy of Jim’s own shop, Supreme Sign Services in Buford, Georgia. Humvee’s paint and wrap combo turns heads faster than a burnout on Main Street.
What sets Humvee apart? According to Jim, it’s the fact that this bodydropped beast is built to drive, not ride in a trailer.
Under the hood sits a 6-liter V-8 beefed up with a Truck Norris cam because, let’s be real, stock just doesn’t cut it. The chassis got a full makeover with an Art Morrison mandrel-bent frame rail after the factory setup was tossed out. Custom control arms up front and a 2-link with a Panhard bar in the rear drop this beast flat on the ground. A set of 26-inch Asanti wheels with custom engraving by Las Vegas Engraving wrapped in Fullway tires gives Humvee that final touch of finesse and swagger. And to keep things grounded, Humvee rocks Baer brakes front and rear, custom-painted and engraved to match the vibe.
Inside, blue diamond-stitched seats, a custom center console, and a suede headliner elevate the cabin. The audio setup hits just as hard, with custom door pods and a speaker box cranking out tunes. This isn’t just a showpiece. It’s a throne on wheels.
What sets Humvee apart? According to Jim, it’s the fact that this bodydropped beast is built to drive, not ride in a trailer. This year, Humvee is gearing up for Eastbound Getdown in Florida and LST 2025 in Texas, ready to claim its crown among the custom elite.
Jim Ellingham’s ’06 Hummer H2 is proof that a Hummer can do more than dominate off-road.
